1867

DUJARDIN is founded near Lille, initially specializing in steam engines and then diesel engines and compressors.

1872 

Creation of the FICHET company, pioneers in the construction of gas generators. The company becomes FICHET-HEURTEY and starts constructing reheat furnaces for steel and heat treatment furnaces in 1889.

1901

Creation of ABBEY INTERNATIONAL, a top company in mill production, later known globally for its Electrical Resistance Welding (ERW) tube and pipe mills, used to produce tubular welded products.

1940

Creation of BRONX ENGINEERING, headquartered in the heart of industrial England. It began its work developing general equipment for the European steel industry, later becoming a pioneer and innovator manufacturing straightening products for the production of tube, pipe, bar and profiles. 

1972

DUJARDIN, MONTBARD and SOMENOR combine to create DMS, now owned by VALLOUREC. SOMENOR was created in 1950 by the American company YODER, the world's leading specialist in manufacturing equipment to produce welded tubes and profiles shaped from strips.

1980

STEIN SURFACE merges with HEURTEY METALLURGIE and renames itself STEIN HEURTEY. HEURTEY METALLURGIE began in 1872 with the founding of FICHET, a pioneer in gasifier manufacturing. STEIN SURFACE evolved from a company founded in 1908, CHARLES MARIE STEIN & CIE, which specialized in industrial heating and then manufacturing electrical and oil furnaces.

Foundation of OTO MILLS in Italy. The company later develops into automation systems (1988). 

1984 

FIVES-CAIL-BABCOCK (FCB) acquires DMS. VALLOUREC refocuses its business on seamless tubes.  

1987 

Acquisition du groupe STEIN HEURTEY par la COMPAGNIE DE FIVES-LILLE. It becomes FIVES STEIN in 2007.

1988

BRONX and TAYLOR-WILSON merge to form BRONX TAYLOR-WILSON, becoming a global leader in steel and non-ferrous mill finishing equipment. 

2003 

ABBEY INTERNATIONAL joins the BRONX TAYLOR-WILSON team. 

2007

Formerly named FIVES-CAIL-BABCOCK (FCB), the FIVES-LILLE Group changes its name to FIVES, thereby consolidating its position as a key player in industrial sustainable development both in France and overseas.  

2010 

FIVES-LILLE acquires the ABBEY / BRONX TAYLOR-WILSON partnership, which then becomes FIVES BRONX.

2013

FIVES acquires KEODS, a company specializing in metallurgical assistance, as well as OTO S.p.A, a specialist in tube & pipe mills, which then becomes FIVES OTO.
