Thermal and cooling
Fives proposes a range of proprietary thermal and cooling solutions for strip processing lines, such as Stein Digiflex® furnace and FlashCooling® technology for vertical annealing and galvanizing lines to process advanced and ultra-strength steel, a range of cost-effective Stein horizontal furnaces and rapid cooling solutions for different applications, as well as Aeris®, an after-pot cooling system that improves strip stability.
The Stein Digiflex® furnace is at the heart of steel strip processing lines to produce advanced high-strength steel. It provides the best product quality with minimum OPEX and environmental impact.
The furnace configuration for strip processing lines depends on several criteria: heat treatment, quality requirements and space availability. Fives has developed a range of Stein horizontal furnaces.
Advanced and ultra high-strength steels require more complex heating and cooling cycles for strip processing lines. Fives has designed FlashCooling® technology for vertical furnaces to cover any cooling rate.
Fives' rapid cooling section offers a flexible and compact way to perfectly cool the strip, including high strength steel. The compact design has a number of benefits, including the better cooling rate control and the significant energy savings.
For galvanizing processes, the cooling tower design remains a major issue for product quality. Fives has designed Aeris®, an efficient cooling system that improves strip stability by enabling the reduction of the cooling length.
The scope of supply includes a wide range of Stein curing coating ovens with different types of heating (gas, induction, direct, indirect) and adapted cooling systems (air, water cooler, cooling rolls).
A wide range of pre & post-treatment solutions, including Stein drying ovens are available to achieve final coating: chrome free, zinc phosphate, anti-finger print, resin coat, primer & finish coat, etc.
