Grade development expertise

Fives’ range of expertise covers hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, hot dip galvanizing (GI, GA, GL, etc.) and all types of processes. Technical support and quality management is offered for all steel grades, including mild, high strength, advanced and ultra high strength steels.

With its up-to-date metallurgical knowhow and extensive experience in both process and quality management, Fives is able to offer:

  • Support to define the most suitable metallurgical concept, taking into account process specificities and customer requirements (mechanical properties, YS/UTS ratio, hole expansion, etc).
  • Support to pass from R&D to industrial lines. Risk identification (banding defects, surface appearance, cracks, etc.) and trial support.
